From WSJ's Washington Wire (sub req'd):
Two shaky House incumbents, Democrat Melancon and Republican Boustany, hope response to hurricane rallies voters behind them. House Republican campaign chief Reynolds touts chance to market conservative social-policy solutions; Rep. Baker of Baton Rouge is overheard telling lobbyists: "We finally cleaned up public housing in New Orleans. We couldn't do it, but God did."Baker explains later he didn't intend flippancy but has long wanted to improve low-income housing.
Emphasis sadly added.
UPDATE: Notice anything missing from this Louisiana Congressman's campaign website?
Notice anything missing from his official House website?
"Leadership that counts and is making a difference for the people of Louisiana's 6th District."
UPDATE II: More from SusanHu.
UPDATE III: Voting percentage with Tom DeLay? 96%.

Do these representatives even care anymore that they say? Their seats are so safe by the rediculous system we have for redistricting, it seems that they can just say whatever stupidity comes into mind.

So that's just total BS...it doesn't surprise me that Republican representatives would be as focused on class warfare as this administration has been.

Lets hope that GOD can clean up what, not only "black America" hasn't been able to clean up but all America. Racism!
Not so proud to be an American.

There's plenty of shame to go around about all aspects of American life. On one hand we can openly discuss our shame. But better yet it would be nice to channel all the shame into real solutions that give us something to be proud of.
I've thought about creating a national database of shameless people and shameless acts to provide a central repository of all we have to ashamed about.
